Previous experience is not necessary, and our philosophy is 'learn by sailing'.

The course is completely on board. 

The boat leaves at 9 am from the Puerto Bahia Marina in Samana and we will go to special destinations within the bay such as El Cayo, and the very special Parque de los Haitises.

Departs at 9am from Samana.

Introductory Sailing Course

The introductory course lasts 3 days, all the time on board . During this course you will be introduced to all the basic topics of sailing cruising yachts in an introductory manner . An important focus will be placed on the different sailing positions and on tacking and gybing maneuvers. You will also learn a lot about life on board.

At the end of this course you will obtain your certificate to process the international ISSA Yacht Crew license.

The boat used depends on the number of participants in the course, we have boats available for groups of 2-8 people.

We typically use the 45-55 foot monohull sailboats listed on our website. They feature 4 private cabins.
