Intermediate Sailboat Navigation Course -ISSA Inshore Skipper- in the Dominican Republic
This level is for those who have completed the Introductory level with us. In some cases, those who have the necessary knowledge and experience can also start at this level.
The introductory course lasts 4 days, all the time on board . Sails at 9am from the Puerto Bahia marina in Samana. The destinations are the anchorages near Las Galeras, exploring this peninsula with some stops in Los Haitises. Most of the sailings are during the day, although on one day the majority of the sailing will be done at night . Students will have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice by sailing in different conditions.

Do the prices include food?
No, food is separate. There are two options: a communal market or the services of a private chef. After your reservation, you will be invited to a group where this will be coordinated with the entire group.
Are the courses certified?
Yes, at the end of the course you can process with additional cost:
- The ISSA international license.
- The national DIMAR license (only for Colombian citizens).

Can minors participate?
Yes, children aged 7 and over can take part in the courses. However, certification is only available to those aged 18 and over.
What are the recommendations to bring to the course?
We recommend you bring:
- Flashlight.
- Personal medication and motion sickness pills (if needed).
- Gloves to protect hands.
- Windbreaker jacket.
- A towel and soft bags that can be easily folded (space on board is limited).
Optional: books, personal entertainment and music to share with the team.
The sailboat has everything else you need.
Do I need previous experience?
- For the introductory course, you do not need previous experience.
- For the Intermediate course, you must have certified experience or have completed our introductory course.
